Latest Updates from Our Project:

Last day of the campaign! BackerKit Partnership!
about 3 years ago – Thu, Mar 04, 2021 at 12:24:54 AM

Our campaign draws to a close in about 20 hours. The last 29 days have been amazing and the most important update for today is just how incredible all our backers are. Thank you all so much for making our dream a reality!

There's still enough time left to unlock the live recording of the soundtrack, so keep on sharing and posting and we'll get there with a little boost from you all!

BackerKit!

We're also excited to announce that we're partnering with BackerKit for help with pledge management after the campaign. Those of you familiar with BackerKit will know how pleasant their backer surveys are. For those who will be new to BackerKit, they provide a really streamlined and easy-to-use experience for selecting reward options, e.g. which prints you want, and shipping details. Everyone's already paid shipping, so there won't be additional charges after the campaign.

Best of all, using BackerKit means you'll be able purchase more prints! The prices will be a little higher after the campaign ends, since the rewards on the campaign are priced lower as a thank you to our backers. On the upside, everyone will be able to buy Pine prints, even if they missed the campaign!

Stay tuned for more details about the backer surveys.

In the meantime, you all can just bask in the glory of how generous and wonderful you all are!

Until next update,

Last two days! Studio Soundtrack Recording is in site!
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 03, 2021 at 11:38:36 PM

What a month it's been! We're in the last 40 hours of our campaign and there's about 7k left to meet the next stretch goal—it might be close but I think we'll make it! It would be great to be able to have the soundtrack recorded live!

We also hit 2000 backers yesterday, which is amazing. We're extremely grateful to have an audience ready to play Pine when it's done. It's a blessing most games don't have.

Thank you again for all the support and sharing over the course of our campaign. Please keep it up so we can make these last few hours really count!

Indie game shout out: Roots of Pacha

This might be our last shout out! It's a good one, too. Roots of Pacha is a farm sim game with a few tricks up its sleeves.  It's set in the stone age and follows a clan that develops improvements by connecting to and learning from nature! Their trailer is impressive and the game looks great.

The studio, Soda Den, is run by a pair of brothers that grew up dreaming of making their own games, so their story is near and dear to our hearts and they've come up with an amazing looking game that's an original take on the classic farm sim experience! Check out their campaign!

That's all we have for this update. Keep up the sharing and we'll make that next stretch goal no problem!

Cheers,

Najati & the Pine team

Last week of the campaign!
about 3 years ago – Mon, Mar 01, 2021 at 11:07:42 AM

We just entered the last week of our campaign! It's been amazing so far, all thanks to the generosity you all have shown. Here's to a strong finish!

120% Funded and Climbing!

We're still on track for the Upgraded Animation stretch goal. If we get there, Tom will definitely appreciate having a couple helping hands around! There are a few moments in the story that we think will look even better with smoother animation and this goal will let us do just that!

Fan Art Appreciation Post

Today on Tom's Instagram feed we posted an homage to some of the amazing fanart of the woodworker. The fan art was a big part of the response to the woodworker and a big part of the inspiration for this Kickstarter campaign. We thought it was fitting to start the last week of our campaign with a look back at some of these incredible pieces. Check it out here!

Another game with a message: Name of The Will

Name of The Will is an incredible looking 2D adventure game by our friends over at Zeitgeist Studio. We love it's unique art style, hand-animated gameplay and the deep meaning behind it's story. Their trailer is intense and compelling and definitely worth a watch.

They just got funded and have some really cool stretch goals and rewards. We think fans of meaningful digital storytelling like Pine will find Name of The Will really compelling. Check out their campaign!

The past few weeks have a whirlwind and a dream come true for us! Thank you again for the support and help us finish strong by continuing to spread the world about Pine!

Until next update, cheers!

100k! Upgraded Animation unlocked!
about 3 years ago – Mon, Mar 01, 2021 at 11:07:38 AM

You all are amazing! 100k! We're blown away by your support and so excited to get back to work on making Pine in a few days. We're not done on Kickstarter yet, though, so keep sharing Pine and we'll have a good chance at those last couple stretch goals!

Stretch Goal Update

Since we've reached 100k, we get to hire that extra animation help and take the animation in some of Pine's key moments to the next level. The next goal at 115k will let us hire recording artists and a studio so the soundtrack will be recorded live. Having a live recording of the soundtrack will help give it that personal, human touch that's hard to achieve otherwise, so we're really excited about this goal!

Reward Updates & Reminder

Just a reminder that we have add-ons for the print bundles, carving mini figures, and the STL of the woodworker. If you all have any questions about those, let us know! Also, we had a couple requests for a few more signed, framed prints so we added 5 more of those, but they're already getting bought up!

Four more days!

With just four days left, our campaign is nearing it's end. It's been surreal so far and has gone better than we dared to imagine. We continue to be overwhelmed and are just super grateful that we get to work on Pine knowing that we've got the support of all you amazing backers. Thank you so much!

Shout out: A Long Journey to an Uncertain End

A Long Journey to an Uncertain End is one absurdly cool looking game. Inspired by some of our favorite shows and movies, its universe is ripe for exploring and its cast is full of personality. The art and animation look amazing, to boot.

Maybe best of all, A Long Journey to an Uncertain End is incredibly inclusive, with a cast full of genuine, diverse characters. You can read all about them on the project's campaign page.

The gameplay is a compelling mix of narrative, skill, and resource management and—I almost forgot to mention—you play as the ship! They're really close to their funding goal so if that sounds like your kind of thing, go check out their campaign and help them reach their goals!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Keep sharing and spreading the word about Pine so we can finish strong in these last four days!

Until next update,

Carving Mini Figure Reveal!
about 3 years ago – Sat, Feb 27, 2021 at 09:50:20 AM

After making quick work of our base funding goal and the Steam Release stretch goal, we're cruising steadily towards that Upgraded Animation goal!

110% Funded

We continue to be thrilled by the support for Pine. Despite being in the calm middle portion of our campaign we're steadily ticking upwards. The more folk see our page, the more certain we are to hit another couple of those stretch goals, so please continue to help get the word out!

Carving Mini Figure Designs

We're really excited to reveal the designs for the Carving Mini Figures. The carvings play a central role in the woodworker's story as he attempts to process his grief and we think these three design concepts capture some of the highs and lows of that process.

These stylized 3D prints will be 3-4" tall and will handsomely decorate your desk, bookshelf, or mantle. We'll print them with a wood-colored resin so they're ready for display or for priming and painting.

Carver STL add-on coming!

The 3D model that Ismael Nieto did of the woodworker took our breath away when we first saw it. Including it as a reward has been part of the plan for this campaign since the beginning. Further, we wanted the model to be a really special reward so we opted to have Tom paint a limited number of them for a higher reward tier.

In order to make the model more accessible, we're working with Ismael to offer the STL file for the model as an add-on.  That way backers all over the world with their own 3D printers can print their own copies of Ismael's amazing model. The add-on should be available in a few days and we'll include it in an announcement when it is!

Kinder World shout out

We've made it a point to only shout out games and projects that we think our backers would find interesting and today is no exception! Kinder World is a game by our friends over at Lumi Interactive.

In Kinder World you nurture your in-game plants and in the process learn about healing and self-care. Based on real research, with utterly delightful visuals, it's no surprise they got funded in a jiffy.

They've got a demo available and wonderful reward tiers. Check it out on their campaign!

Hoping you all have a great weekend, until next update!
